Subash Tomar death: Delhi HC puts govt, Delhi Police on notice

The Delhi High Court has issued put the government, the Delhi Police on notice after two of the eight youth named accused in the death case of constable Subhash Tomar submitted before the court that they were at a Metro station at the time of the alleged attack on the police official.

Soon after Tomar was admitted to a hospital, the Delhi police commissioner at a press conference had said that Tomar received injuries on stomach, neck and chest and the same was the reason for his unfortunate and untimely demise. However, eye witnesses and medical experts did not report any serious injuries.

Tomar, 47, admitted to RML Hospital on December 23, died two days later allegedly owing to injuries received during the violent protests by people who sought justice for 23-year-old gang rape victim, who also died on December 29 in a Singapore hospital.
