Yet another disturbing incident has thrown up questions about women's security while travelling in trains. Around 7.30 am on Wednesday, a student travelling alone was molested by a co-passenger on a running train - Doon-Howrah Express.
The incident took place when the train was nearing Bandel station from the Burdwan station. As other co-passengers heard the screams of the girl, they caught the accused, Ravi Sonkar red handed.
The RPF was later called in and the accused was handed over to them. Later, the RPF took the accused to the Bandel GRP. The accused was arrested and is likely to be produced before the court today.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the Howrah GRP. Officials at the Howrah GRP said that the RPF officials on that train and TC will be called in for questioning.
On December last year, a woman passenger was molested by an Army jawan on the Amritsar express.
