Emphasising that in recent times, India has witnessed various incidents of 'maligning' Hindu beliefs and traditions, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) Dharma Sansad on Thursday passed two resolutions – one on the “conspiracy” to “disintegrate” the Hindu society and the other one on the 'struggle' to save the 'tradition' and 'belief' in Sabarimala.

The resolution titled ‘Conspiracy to disintegrate Hindu society’ was proposed by Swami Govind Dev Giri and seconded by Swami Jitendranand.

Stating that Islamists, Church, Communists and some political forces are working in tandem towards creating 'disunity' in the Hindu society, the resolution said their modus operandi clearly shows that they want to spread 'unrest' in the country.

“In Bhima Koregaon in Maharashtra, they are trying to divide the Marathas and Dalits, in Pathalgadi in Jharkhand, the Church and Maoists are trying to divide the Tribals from the Hindu society. In Saharanpur, we witnessed violence to upset the Scheduled Caste and General Caste harmony. In Una, it was meant to drive a wedge between the Scheduled Caste and rest of the society,” the resolution said.

“In the recent past, we have come across a phenomenon called Urban Naxals, which can stoop to any level – from maligning Indian culture to encouraging the Maoists, to even conspiring to kill the Prime Minister,” it said.

The resolution called upon all to reject pseudo-secularism, casteism, regionalism, linguistic chauvinism and asked people to defeat the political parties promoting such agenda.

Titled ‘Struggle to save tradition and belief in Sabarimala’, the resolution on the Kerala temple called it an “equivalent” to the Ayodhya movement. The Sabarimala resolution was proposed by Swami Parmatmanand and seconded by Swami Ayappadas.

“The Sabarimala temple of south India is one of the most recent examples of this campaign of creating an atmosphere of disrespect against the traditions of Hindu temples,” the resolution said.“This campaign is sometimes carried out in the name of environment and on other occasions in the name of modernity. All these go a long way in exemplifying how widespread this anti-hindu campaign is,” it said.

The Dharma Sansad asked the judiciary and the government to “keep distance” from the traditions and beliefs of the Hindus. The Dharma Sansad called upon the Hindus to launch a national movement on Sabarimala.

An estimated 3,000 seers from various Hindu sects are participating in the two-day Dharma Sansad in Prayagraj, which is being held on the sidelines of Kumbh Mela.
