Vikas Barala, son of Haryana BJP President Subhash Barala is set to remain in jail after his bail application was rejected by a district court in Chandigarh on Monday.

This is the third time the court has dismissed the application of the two accused, Vikas Barala and his accomplice, Ashish. The earlier two bail applications were dismissed on August 29 and September 12.

Even as the charge sheet has been submitted in the case and charges have been framed, the two accused continue to remain in jail ever since their arrest on August 9.

The accused were charged for allegedly stalking and attempting to kidnap 29-year-old DJ, Varika Kundu, who is daughter of IAS officer VS Kundu, late night on August 4, when she was returning home to Panchkula from Chandigarh. The duo were arrested by Chandigarh Police in a drunken state and given bail hours later, till their arrested again on August 9.

"We had pointed out the discrepancies in her statements before the Magistrate. There was no mention of any attempt to kidnap her in her statements before. Moreover, the charge sheet has been submitted," said Barala's Counsel Ravinder Pandit.

With their bail dismissed, the accused are now set to approach Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The next hearing in the case is on October 27.
