As the furore continues over alleged leak in the SSC CGL Tier II Exam 2018, the SSC Chairman released an official statement on the website.

Addressing the protesting candidates, Chairman released notification saying that he had met protestors.

The official statement read: “A delegation of protesting candidates met with the undersigned at 6 PM on 28.2.2018 with printouts of some questions of CGLE (Tier-II) 2017. They were advised to provide concrete evidence in support of their allegations by 10.30 AM on 1.3.2018. They were informed that on receipt of such evidences, the Commission would, in consultation with the DoP&T, refer the matter to be enquired into by an independent Investigating Agency.”

The SSC CGL Tier II exams was conducted on Feb 22, 2018. Candidates are protesting and demanding a CBI probe.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal backed the demand for a CBI enquiry.

He wrote on Twitter: “Thousands of students of SSC exam scam are demanding a CBI enquiry. This issue is tied to the future of thousands of students. The central government should listen to the demands of the students and order a CBI probe.”

The Congress on Thursday alleged that those behind the SSC paper leak had links with the government and asked why a CBI probe was not being initiated into the incident.

"Why is the (Narendra) Modi government and prime minister not ordering a CBI probe into the SSC paper leak matter? Whom is the prime minister protecting? Whom are they conspiring to save," Congress communications in-charge Randeep Surjewala said.

Describing the incident as another important issue, where question papers were leaked, he said it stole the opportunities of around nine lakh students who appeared in the exam.

"This is turning out to be another Vyapam scam," Surjewala said.

Alleging that those involved in the scam seemed to have links with the government, the Congress leader said that was the reason why no action was being initiated into the matter, while the students were protesting on the streets.
