Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, spiritual leader and founder of Art of Living foundation, took to Twitter on Saturday saying that Burhan Wani's father Muzaffar Wani was in his ashram. This comes on a day when Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence 7 Race Course Road to discuss the ongoing turmoil in Kashmir.

In his tweet the spiritual leader said, "Muzaffar Wani, the father of Burhan Wani was in the ashram for the last 2 days. We discussed several issues."

Burhan Muzaffar Wani was the poster boy and commander of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), who was killed in an encounter with Indian Army on July 8. Wani was allegedly instrumental in brainwashing many local boys to join militancy. Thousands of people reportedly attended the funeral of Wani. Following his death, protests broke out in the Valley between security forces and violent mob.

Ever since then the Valley has been on boil, Saturday marks the 50th day of curfew, while 68 people have been killed in protests in the Valley.

In an interview with Youth Ki Awaaz, before Burhan's death, father Muzaffar had said, "Burhan is away from me, and I do feel for that. But I know that if he dies on this path, he too will be a martyr."

Earlier this week, the Prime Minister had a meeting with a delegation of opposition parties from the state led by former chief minister Omar Abdullah. The Prime Minister had expressed his deep concern and pain over the situation in the valley and asked all political parties to work together to find a permanent and lasting solution to problems in the state.
