Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has said that the threatening letter from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) was not sent to him but to the hotel in which he was supposed to stay.

"It was the letter sent to our centre, not to me; they did not call me. The letter was sent to the hotel I was supposed to stay. And also to our centres both in KL and in Penang," he told ANI.

"The letter, whatever we got we gave it to the press. And the letter came to the hotel manager, (Shangri-La) and it was given to the Indian embassy," he added.

The spiritual guru had received threats from the Islamic State terror group last month.

Art of Living spokesperson Nakul Dhawan had said the content of the letter was threatening which read that if they go ahead with the programme there would be consequences.
