A special Cyberabad police team today left for Kolkata to question an accused arrested for alleged hacking and fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 10 lakh from the bank account of former Test cricketer VVS Laxman, a senior official said.

Additional DCP (Crime), Cyberabad, G Janaki Sharmila said the accused identified as Izazul will be brought to Hyderabad on a transit warrant in a couple of days as part of the probe. "We will interrogate the accused in Kolkata over next two to three days. As tomorrow is holiday for banks, we will verify bank records on Monday and bring him here after that," Sharmila said.

Izazul, a resident of Malda, was yesterday arrested by Kolkata police for allegedly syphoning off Rs 10 lakh from the bank account of Laxman through net banking recently. He was nabbed after a manager of a nationalised bank alerted police following an unusual transaction on his account there. "The accused is claiming that he did not hack the bank account of the cricketer but merely parked funds in his account given by someone else", Sharmila added.
