Rajasthan government today said that a 'Special Task Force' will soon be set up in every district to verify the antecedents of Bangladeshi residents staying illegally in the state.

Replying to a "call attention motion" moved by BJP MLA Surendra Pareek and debated by at least six other MLAs, Home Minister GC Kataria said the STF would identify Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally and verify their antecedents and if required they would be pushed back as per the law.

The Special Task Force (STF) would not harass the Bangladeshi community living with legal papers in the state, but they should assist the local district administration and police during verification, Kataria said.

Referring to Union Home Ministry's order of 2009 and 2011 over Bangladeshis illegally residing in parts of the country, Kataria said the STF was set up in compliance to the central government's guidelines.

In 2014, the state government had run a campaign and found 149 such people living illegally in the state, of which 142 were "pushed back" to their country, Kataria said. Similarly, the district police found that 237 Pakistani nationals were residing illegally in the state, of which 67 were expelled, he said, adding, process to expel the remaining 170 was on.

The home minister, however, denied report of any Pakistani national missing or hiding after start of Thar Link Express train running between Munabao and Khokhrapar railway stations since 2006.

Many of the treasury members told the House that the Bangladesh nationals are not only residing illegally in the state but also getting their Aadhar cards and voter id card besides forming illegal huts as slums.
