Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley released the BJP's 'Vision Document' for the February 18 Tripura Assembly elections, in Agartala on Sunday, seeking to end the CPM's 25-year-old rule in the state.
The poll manifesto promises to implement the Seventh Pay Commission's recommendations for government employees regularise contractual staff and provide one employment to each household.
"During the last elections, we had limited support in the Northeast states. BJP worked in every state in an organised manner to garner support and importance," the senior BJP leader said.
Jaitley said a wave of anger runs in Tripura today against the CPM that has been ruling the state for 25 years. The election results will be declared on March 3. The manifesto also promises free education for women till graduation and free smartphones to youths.
