This may well be seen as the first tacit admission from the topmost echelon of Congress that a leadership change is more or less a certainty now.

There is a distinct murmur in political circles that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi may be soon elevated to the top spot. Rahul is currently on a break even though the budget session is underway, and there is no clear indication when he will be back to the capital.
But reports from the Congress camp suggest that he may be chosen as the party president as early as in April, though Sonia Gandhi's tenure lasts till September.
When Sonia Gandhi was asked about it, she said, 'When it will be decided, you will all know'. So while not mentioning any specific timeframe, the Congress president also didn't specifically deny that the party is mulling thoughts of a change in the top leadership.
When asked about Venkaiah Naidu's introspection jibe towards her, Sonia said that Naidu should apologise. This may well be seen as the first tacit admission from the topmost echelon of Congress that a leadership change is more or less a certainty now.
