The Shiv Sena on Friday criticised the Narendra Modi-led government for failing to take any action against Pakistan, following the mutilation of two soldiers along the Line of Control (LoC).

"The people of the country are wondering what action has been taken by Delhi after two jawans were beheaded," said an editorial in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna.

The editorial took a swipe at the government, saying that it had merely ‘summoned Pakistan high-commissioner to India Abdul Basit to register its protest.’

The Sena questioned whether this had stopped Pakistan in the past from conducting cross-border activities. The piece even highlighted that Hafeez Saeed, the mastermind behind the 26/11 attacks was still at large.

The editorial said that the security situation in Kashmir was deteriorating with security personnel being attacked and banks being limited in broad daylight.

"The country felt that in return for these two beheadings, the heads of 50 Pakistanis would be chopped off and the victory would be celebrated. Instead, evidence is being collected, blood samples are being taken and discussions are on,” said the editorial.
