Taking a jibe at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi over his suit boot ki sarkar remark, Union Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani on Sunday said that the former couldn't speak for even two minutes in the Parliament sans a note.

Suit boot ki sarkar, 1:30 minute's byte is easier than 1:30 hrs speech in the Parliament, Irani recalled her earlier statement, saying that she was right about it.

Even for the two minutes address, which he (Rahul) made in the Parliament, he brought a note, she added.

While addressing a rally in Amethi, she said, "The people were expecting railway line to Amethi, three generations of Gandhi family couldn't fulfil it. On February 24, 2015, Rajiv Gandhi charitable trust bought 65 acres of farmer's land. Who got the jobs," she asked.

Irani, who is presently on a visit to Amethi, will distribute insurance coverage money to 25,000 women.

Irani had unsuccessfully contested against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi from the Amethi parliamentary constituency in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

During a Parliament session in April, Gandhi launched an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, "Your government is not listening to farmers. It is a government of industrialists. Aapki suit boot ki sarkar hai."

The snide remark was a reference to the fancy suit the Prime Minister wore, with his name on it, during US President Barack Obama's India visit.
