Aside the prominent, well-publicised flagship schemes, smaller initiatives such as simplification of forms and self-attestation of documents, will be the focus on the Narendra Modi government's extensive publicity campaigns to mark its second year in power.

Senior government officials told dna that success stories on such initiatives will occupy a prominent space in the publicity campaigns, aside popular schemes such as Swachh Bharat, Jan Dhan Yojna and the Mudra Yojna.

"A notion has developed that most of the schemes announced by the Modi government in the last 18 months has not seen ground-level implementation. With a view to dispel this perception, smaller schemes, such as simplification of forms and self-attestation of documents, and other initiatives in the social and the infrastructure sectors, which has had easier implementation and a wider impact is being collected by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the Information and Broadcasting (I&B) ministry, along with successful case studies," a senior government official said.

Every ministry is in the process of submitting five mega success stories from their ministries which will be compiled by the PIB.

In a letter to the all ministries on April 19, I&B secretary Sunil Arora asked secretaries to provide success stories, promos, films or reports on the initiatives taken by them in the last two years, which has impacted lives of people, for a comprehensive communication strategy for highlighting the government's achievements in the last two years.

In the letter, the ministries have also been asked to shortlist beneficiaries out of the many who are understood to have benefited by the government's flagship schemes, for the success stories which are likely to be broadcasted by media units like Doordarshan and All India Radio.

Doordarshan, AIR will be shooting the series success stories for broadcast once they receive the list of beneficiaries. DAVP will be in charge of most print publicity materials.

Senior officials said each ministry will also publish a booklet highlighting its achievements, as part of the publicity campaigns.
