On the eve of completion of six months in office, Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government in Uttar Pradesh on Monday released a White Paper, exposing the 'mismanagement' of erstwhile SP, BSP governments (2003-2017) that had emptied the state's coffers and brought development to a standstill.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the White Papers contain details exposing poor governance by the erstwhile Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mayawati and Akilhesh Yadav governments.

"Only 3 per cent of their budgets were spent on development works; the rest was splurged on non-productive schemes which stunted UP's growth. The state's debts increased by 2.5 times in the last 10 years," charged Adityanath.

"Most of the Public Sector Units (PSUs) have been closed during their regimes after incurring a total loss of over 91,000 crore to the state exchequer. Due to rampant corruption, majority of the welfare schemes failed to reach to the people of state," alleged the CM.

"Worst was that Rs 9,000 crore, meant for welfare of the members of minority community, remained unutilised and lapsed. Minorities were used only as vote-bank, and financial indiscipline was at its nadir," he said.

Adityanath said his government has tried very hard to bring the economy back on track during the past six months. "We will release report card of our six months rule in a day or two before the people to judge between our good governance and bad governance of the previous regimes," he said.

The CM claimed that his government was sticking to party's Sankalp Patra agenda of 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' for an overall development of Uttar Pradesh. "The results are there for everyone to see. We have made a mark and difference in all sectors," he said.

Observers, however, opine that by releasing White Paper, the CM has sought to buy time as his government has very little to showcase as its achievements in the last six months.
