The headmaster has been issued showcause.
In a shocking expose, Zee 24 Ghanta has reported that a school headmaster in West Bengal leaked question papers to help a student do well in the Class X Madhyamik examination. The Madhyamik Board of secondary education has decided to showcause the headmaster of Subhasnagar high school, located in Mainaguri in North Bengal.
According to allegations levelled by teachers of the same school, headmaster Haridayal Roy used to open question paper set before the scheduled time. Normally, the rule is to only the question set at 11.15 AM. But according to people, he used to open the question set before 11AM. He was caught red-handed by external exam invigilator who acted after receiving complaint. But why was Haridayal Roy breaking the law.?
He opened the question sets around 10.30 AM and then deployed a teacher to solve the question paper. Later, the entire set was sent to the topper. According to a whistleblower teacher, the meritorious student wasn't comfortable with this arrangement. and was mentally depressed once the entire fraudulent activity started. However, the headmaster was adamant to ensure that the topper gets leaked question papers. He wanted the school topper to get a state-rank in class X exam so that the school could get the limelight.
Almost every question paper in the recently concluded class X exam was apparently leaked in this process.
However, this is not the first time that such brazen violation has happened. The whistleblower teacher alleged Haridayal Roy has used such devious method before. Even in class XII exams, he made 'setting' to get students a high statewise rank, according to the teacher.
When confronted by Zee 24 Ghanta, Haridayal Roy decided to brazen it out and said he opened the question sets, for operational convenience. The secondary board of education has decided to summon Haridayal Roy for questioning and have issued him a showcause notice.
