Shivraj Singh Chouhan, wife serve notice on Sonia, Bhuria

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his wife Sadhana Singh on Sunday served a legal notice on Congress president Sonia Gandhi and state Congress president Kantilal Bhuria demanding withdrawal of advertisement, they claimed defamed them. The advertisement was issued by the party in various newspapers in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh,

The couple has also said that they will file a defamation suit worth Rs 10 crore against them in case they failed to withdraw the advertisement within 15 days of receipt of the notice.

On November 13, the Congress had published an advertisement in Hindi dailies in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh accusing the CM and his family of the indulging in corruption. The defamatory ad, they said, was published  with full knowledge, information, authority, permission and responsibility of Gandhi and Bhuria,  caused them loss of dignity and respect.

The notice asked them to publish similar size advertisements in same papers withdrawing the charges within a fortnight. The notice was served by advocate Shashank Shekhar.
