Shiv Sena has planned a show of strength on the second death anniversary of Balasaheb Thackeray at the Shivaji Park in Mumbai on Monday.

"We will be holding a big programme where every Sena worker will pay respects to Balasaheb," senior Shiv Sena leader Diwakar Raote said, adding that party President Uddhav Thackeray was keen that the programme became memorable.

Party sources said that it would be an opportunity to assert Sena's pride following its falling out with BJP in the state.

"We have made all the necessary arrangements for thousands of Shiv Sainiks who would start arriving here this evening from every part of the state," a Sena leader said. It is not clear if Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other BJP leaders will attend the event.

"We have not invited anyone from BJP. However, anyone who wishes to come is welcome," Raote said. After Monday's programme, Uddhav Thackeray would be starting his state-wide tour to thank the people for supporting the party in the Assembly elections.
