Sanjay Raut on Tuesday said that the party is not quitting the coalition with Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra. "We are not planning to quit the government, those who have problem with us can quit. If BJP can form a government on their own, they can do that," he said. "Let people say whatever they want, Shiv Sena is a lion and will work like a lion," he added.

"Every worker or a person fighting against Pakistan is a soldier, Shiv Sena workers are also soldiers," he said about the party's recent opposition to singer Ghulam Ali concert and author KM Kasuri. "If we give Param Vir chakra, Vir Chakra to warriors who fight with Pak, what's wrong in felicitating people who did this," Raut said about the felicitation of the Sudheendra Kulkarni's attackers by Uddhav Thackeray.

"Kasuri has supported separatists in Kashmir, we told the chief minister yesterday," Raut said.

The Shiv Sena had opposed the launch of Kasuri's book 'Neither a Hawk, Nor a Dove: An Insider Account of Pakistan's Foreign Policy', saying there should be no engagement with Pakistan as long as it supports terror attacks on Indian soil.

Yesterday, Shiv Sena members threw black paint at ORF chairman Sudheendra Kulkarni, who was the organiser of Kasuri's book launch event. Fadnavis, disapproving of the Sena's protests, had said last evening that it had brought disrepute to the state. "We cannot endorse Kasuri, but can't let our state turn into banana republic. The rule of law has prevailed. I think the way things have happened has brought a bad name to our state. There could have been better ways to put forth a point of view," the CM had said.

Kasuri's book was released last night amid heavy security.
