Shiv Sena, on Tuesday, decided to sack one of it's corporator Abhishek Ghosalkar who also happens to be the son of Vinod Ghosalkar, ex-MLA and Vibhag Pramukh of the party. The action was taken by Sena as Abhishek failed to obey party's order.

Abhishek had lodged complaint against former Mumbai mayor Shubha Raul, corporator Sheetal Mhatre and nominated corporator Avkash Jadhav, with  BMC, for violating code of conduct. All the three corporators received a show cause notice from the civic body's election department. The party asked Abhishek to take back the complaint but he refused to do so.

Last week Raul, Mhatre and Jadhav received a show cause notice from the BMC for allegedly violating the civic code of conduct by inaugurating a garden at LIC colony. Later on January 21, the BMC officials went ahead and registered a case of non cognisable offence against the trio with the MHB police station at Borivali. The three corporators have alleged that the BMC officials are purely working under the pressure of Ghosalkar who had got them to register a complaint against them.

Raul said that they had a meeting with their party chief on Tuesday morning where it was decided to sack Ghosalkar. Following this announcement, Ghosalkar was admitted at a private hospital in Malad owing to blood pressure problem.

Nominated corporator Avkash Jadhav said that he got dragged into this controversy unnecessarily despite not violating the code of conduct.
