Peter Mukerjea, estranged husband of Indrani Mukerjea, on Wednesday filed an application in a special CBI court stating that she has allegedly forged his signatures for two banks, one in Mumbai and the other in New Zealand which basically said that Peter was relinquishing his rights over those two bank accounts.

Sources say that the court, however, ordered the banks to not consider the letters sent by Indrani to them and has even asked the banks to verify signatures.

Indrani and Peter's relationship soured after their arrest in the Sheena Bora murder case. Earlier, Indrani had said that she wanted the court's permission to seek divorce from Peter as she felt that she has been trapped in the case by him.

Indrani, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, Peter and her driver Shyamwar Rai were accused of allegedly killing and disposing body of her daughter Sheena Bora. However, the driver turned an approver and is helping the prosecution's case.

The deposition of prosecution witnesses in the murder case is likely to start from February 23 with the trial court directing CBI to hand over the list of its witnesses to defence lawyers.

The alleged murder of Sheena came to light in 2015 when the driver employed by the Mukerjeas confessed to the police for allegedly assisting Indrani in committing the crime. Sheena was allegedly strangled to death by Indrani with the help of her former husband Sanjeev Khanna. She was killed for entering into a relationship with Peter's son from an earlier marriage.
