Maharashtra police chief Sanjeev Dayal has said that action will be taken if it is proved any Raigad district police official botched up the Sheena Bora case probe in 2012.

SP Suvez Haq further said that no crime and no report of accidental death was registered when Raigad police sent recovered skeletal remains allegedly of Sheena Bora to JJ hospital in 2012.

The IG Konkan Range has been asked to conduct an inquiry into why no crime or AD case was registered by Raigad police in 2012.

Mumbai Police had earlier recovered the car used in the murder of Sheena Bora in April 2012.

The case probe took a fresh turn on Friday night when the police claimed that Sanjeev Khanna, the second husband of Indrani Mukerjea, had confessed to his complicity in the crime during a joint interrogation of the three accused. The Mumbai Police brought main accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukerjea, to the Khar Police station for interrogation on Saturday.

Indrani was arrested by Khar Police on August 25 in connection with the murder case. She was later produced before the Bandra court, which remanded her in police custody till August 31. Her driver was also arrested on August 25 and during interrogation, he claimed that Indrani had killed Sheena.
