With JD(U) President Sharad Yadav reportedly referring to the humble background of Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and not considering him fit enough to be Prime Minister, Manjhi on Monday said Yadav spoke the truth about social standing of deprived castes but he did not believe that Yadav had really passed comments about he lacking qualifications for PM's post.

"He spoke truth about social standing of some deprived castes like Manjhi to which I belong," Manjhi told reporters. He, however, did not subscribe to the belief that Yadav questioned his educational qualification or did not consider him "chatur" (clever). "I am sure Sharadji must not have said so...media must have twisted his statement...," Manjhi said emerging from 'Janata ke Darbar Me Mukhya Mantri' programme.

He would meet Sharad Yadav during his trip to Delhi to attend Chief Ministers conference on December 7 and talk to him over the issue, the Bihar CM said. The CM said its true that still many socially deprived castes including his own Manjhi caste lead a deplorable life.

"Despite the fact that my parents were beaten up for sending me to school, I managed to become a graduate with Honours in 1966," he said. Manjhi said though he never dreamt to become Chief Minister or Prime Minister, "its not that I am not qualified for PM post." "What is the qualification for PM post which Manjhi does not have?" he asked.
