NCP on Thursday said its party chief Sharad Pawar will take a stock of the work done by the Maharashtra government here on October 31 as it completes a year in office.

NCP Mumbai Unit President Sachin Ahir said a grand public rally has been organised by the party at Jambori Maidan in Worli, which will be addressed by Pawar on the same day. "The BJP had promised many things to come to power, but they haven't been able to fulfill even basic promise like taming down inflation. In fact, inflation has constantly risen over the past one year, due to the wrong policies of the BJP government,"Ahir told reporters here.
Hitting out at the BJP over the escalated prices of pulses in the state, Ahir said, "Rates of essential commodities like pulses, onions are reaching the sky in between the festive season. On the other hand government is dilly-dallying in taking action against the hoarders of pulses as retailers and wholesalers are supporters of the BJP.

He further alleged that the government has failed to provide relief to farmers and the common man from the water shortage the state is facing. "Also, the law and order situation is at its worst in the state and even worse in the Nagpur, the Chief minister's hometown," he said.

"Then there are ministers who are said to be involved in scams. At the end of the day, the government does not seem serious about all these issues. Pawar saheb had even met the CM to apprise him of the worsening conditions. But still, he (CM) failed to take his advice and act on it. If the present conditions go on, the Maharashtra will be beyond the control of this government," Ahir added. BJP had formed its first ever government in the state on October 31. Later Shiv Sena joined it.
