The Uttar Pradesh Police on Thursday arrested the two main accused involved with the death of an eight-year-old boy in a celebratory firing in Shamli. The accused are Gayyur and Inam Dhuri.

The police had earlier detained three accused in the incident. Earlier, two journalists of a news channel were allegedly attacked by Samajwadi Party leader and MLA Nahid Hasan and his aides. They had gone to cover the incident in which an eight-year-old boy was killed in celebratory firing by party workers in Shamli district on Sunday.

The party workers were celebrating the victory of party candidate Nafisa in the local body polls from the town.

Bharatiya Janata Party's Uttar Pradesh unit has alleged that the attack on media persons was a planned assault.
