In Sirsa a minor consumed some poisonous substance on Sunday after she was harassed by the persons accused of raping her earlier, were let free by the police and started stalking her girl. The girl has since been admitted to a hospital.
In October last the police, on her complaint, had registered a case in which she alleged that a local resident Krishan Kumar had lured her and he along with two others raped her repeatedly.
Within a month the police cancelled the FIR after the accused were absolved of the charges in the investigation. Incidentally, the police, which would normally takes months to complete its investigation, showed exemplary speed in probing this case and declared the boys named by the girl innocent. As the accused allegedly started stalking the girl again and threatened her with dire consequences, the harassed girl consumed some poisonous substance.
In Amritsar district, two youths have been arrested for allegedly forcing poison down the mouth of a minor when the 16-year-old rejected their friendship offer. The girl has been admitted to a local hospital where her condition was stated to be serious but stable.
