Several Air India flights delayed as pilots decide to 'go slow'

Air India flights has been affected after the pilots of the company decided to 'go slow' to protest the government's proposal of removing pilots from the 'Workmen' category.

Though there is no clear estimate of the number of flights delayed, sources have said that eight flights supposed to depart from Mumbai airport has been cancelled. 

The issue came front on Friday when an Air India flight AI 115 travelling from Delhi to London was delayed by around eight hours. 

The proposed move to remove pilots 'workmen’ category, under the Industrial Disputes Act, will take away their rights to go on strikes. The proposal has already been cleared by the labour ministry.
