Questioning if the country was under a "shadow of fear", the Shiv Sena on Thursday attacked the BJP and asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah to clarify VHP leader Pravin Togadia's claim about a plot to kill him.

In an editorial in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana, the party also took a swipe at Modi and Togadia and said Hindutva icons like Vinayak Damodar Savarkar or late Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray had never given vent to their tears in public.

"...if Hindutva adherents are feeling scared and terrorised, then Modi and Shah must come forth and clarify," the editorial said, questioning the silence of BJP veterans like LK Advani and questioning if it was moun (silence) or fear.
Togadia had gone missing in Ahmedabad last week after a Rajasthan police team had come to arrest him in connection with a case. He was later found unconscious in a park and admitted to the hospital.
