Elaborate security arrangements have been made in Varanasi ahead of the last phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Varanasi is one of the 41 constituencies that will go to the polls in the ninth and final phase of voting on Monday.

According to reports, Central Para Military forces have reached at most of the poll areas and flag marches are being conducted in sensitive localities in Varanasi.

Inter state and inter districts borders have been sealed. Barriers have been erected to check the unauthorised movement of vehicles and persons.

Varanasi is the most talked about seat in general elections as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is pitted against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal and Ajay Rai of Congress.

On the last day of campaign yesterday, leaders of all major political parties left no stone unturned to woo the voters in favour of their party candidates. Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, AAP chief Kejriwal and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav held impressive road shows in Varanasi.

Besides Varanasi, the constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, which are going to poll tomorrow, are Domariyaganj, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushi Nagar, Deoria, Bansgaon, Lalganj, Azamgarh, Ghosi, Salempur, Ballia, Jaunpur, Machhlishahr, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Mirzapur and Robertsganj.
