On the 22nd anniversary of demolition of disputed structure, Babri mosque, by Kar Sewaks (Hindu volunteers), security has been beefed up in the temple city.
About 10,000 security personnel have been deployed in the city along with imposition of prohibitory orders.
Anti-riot personnel are maintaining strict vigil in Ayodhya and Faizabad towns. Moreover, two dozen CCTV cameras have also been installed across city.
Hindus regard Ayodhya as the birth place of Lord Rama. On December 6, 1992, a mob of Hindu religious volunteers demolished the Babri mosque allegedly been built by the Mughal ruler Babar in the sixteenth century at a place where Lord Ram temple existed.
