It was widely reported recently that an issue related to a school run by Superstar Rajinikanth and his wife was not granted a stay by the Madras High Court. Lawyer Nalini Chidambaram (former Finance Minister P Chidambaram's wife) is representing the school in court. Now, Vandana Tugnait, principal of The Ashram Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chennai, has issued a statement.

In her statement, Tugnait clarified that Rajinikanth is not associated with the school and that the Joint Director of Matriculation Schools has sent a notice to him asking for an explanation with no justification. She has stated that this was also pointed out to the court.

The statement also clarified that Rajinikanth has not been asked by the High Court to appear before the Joint Director as reported by some media. She has stated that some of the media reports were wrong and misleading. This has proved to be embarrassing for the actor, she added.
