SBI PO Prelims Exam Analysis 2018: SBI PO Preliminary Exams for 2018 was conducted on 1st July 2018. The exams will be spanning over a period of one week. The SBI PO Preliminary Exams started on July 1 and will end on July 8, 2018. The exams are being conducted by the State Bank of India. The registration for the PO Preliminary exams began on 21st April and the last date for the submission of the applications was 13th May 2018. 

SBI PO Preliminary Exam 2018 is being conducted in four-time slots, i.e two in the morning session and two in the evening session. The exam was conducted for a total vacancy for 2000 candidates. The SBI PO Prelims Exam has a total of 100 questions, to be answered in the time frame of 60 minutes. Candidate will be awarded 1 mark on every correct answer and a score of 0.25 will be deducted. Except for English Language section, all the other sections were available in both Hindi and English language. 

ENGLISH LANGUAGE: SHIFT 1

Total number of 30 questions

Difficulty Level: Moderate

In this section, 5 questions will be framed from the reading comprehension. There were 8 questions on phrase replacement and one based on vocabulary. 6 pars jumbles and sentence starters, 5 sentence connection questions were framed. The overall difficulty level for all this section was moderate. A score between 15-17 is considered a good score. 

QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE: SHIFT 1

Total number of 25 questions 

Difficulty Level: Moderate

In this section, a total of 5 questions were asked from number series. DI part was calculative. This section is usually the time taking section with overall difficulty at moderate. A score between 18-20 is considered a good score. 

REASONING ABILITY: SHIFT 1

Total number of 35 questions

Difficulty Level: Moderate

A score between 18-20 is considered a good score for this section. 

ENGLISH LANGUAGE: SHIFT 2

Difficulty Level: Moderate to Difficult

In this section, 6 questions will be framed from the reading comprehension based on economic growth. The reading comprehension section was difficult and lengthy. 6 para jumbles, 4  questions were from fill in the blanks and 15 questions were based on spot the error. sentence connection questions were framed. The overall difficulty level for all this section was moderate.

QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE: SHIFT 2 

Difficulty Level: Moderate to Difficult

The DI part was lengthy because of extensive calculations. 

REASONING ABILITY: SHIFT 2

Difficulty Level: Moderate to Difficult

The analytical reasoning section were not easy and lengthy.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE: SHIFT 3

Difficulty Level: Moderate to Difficult

In this section, 7 questions will be framed from the reading comprehension based on paradox of plenty. The reading comprehension section was difficult and lengthy. 5 para jumbles and  questions from fill in the blanks. There were 6 questions based on phrase/word replacement questions. 5 questions were based on spot the error and 2 statement connection questions were also asked. The overall difficulty level for all this section was moderate.

Reading Comprehension (RC) was easy-moderate. Two questions were from vocabulary (1 synonym and 1 antonym). The overall difficulty level of this section was moderate to difficult.

QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE: SHIFT 3 

Difficulty Level: Moderate to Difficult

The DI part was lengthy because of extensive calculations. The arithmetic-based questions were based on concepts like time and work, partnership, profit, loss and discount, time, speed and distance, SI/CI, mixture, etc. 

REASONING ABILITY: SHIFT 3

Difficulty Level: Moderate to Difficult

The analytical reasoning section were not easy and lengthy.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE: SHIFT 4

Difficulty Level: Moderate to Difficult

In this section, 5 questions will be framed from the reading comprehension based on women empowerment. The reading comprehension section was moderate. 2 vocab questions, 5 para jumbles and 5 questions from fill in the blanks.  The overall difficulty level for all this section was moderate.
