Saradha scam accused Kunal Ghosh was granted interim bail by the Calcutta High Court on Wednesday.

The Court granted him bail on a bond of Rs 2 lakh and he will not be allowed to step out of the Narkeldanga jurisdiction until next orders.
Ghosh, the Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP suspended from the party was arrested on November 13, 2013 and was sent to CBI custody. Later, he was sent to judicial custody and had been behind the bars since then.

Presently, the CBI is investigating the multi-crore-rupee Saradha scam after the Supreme Court asked the investigating agency to probe the case.
On several occasions, Ghosh had gone on a hunger strike inside the jail claiming that some influential people who were involved in the scam were not being questioned. He had even gone to extent of attempting suicide after consuming several sleeping pills.

Last month, another accused, former transport minister of the Bengal government, Madan Mitra was also granted bail by the court.
