Uttar Pradesh BJP on Monday said that Akhilesh Yadav-led government in the state worked only in the "vote interest" and not in the "public interest" during its last two year tenure.

"In the last two years, SP government has worked only in vote interest and not in public interest," party's spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak told reporters in Lucknow. Pathak alleged that after its defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, the SP government was planning to close schemes which it had been highlighting as its achievements.

Over the laptop distribution scheme to youths in the state, Pathak said, "The SP government attempted to take vote of youths with the help of its much publicised laptop scheme but now after failing in its agenda it is considering to close the scheme. What message the government wants to give, the CM must clarify," he added.
