Following the reports of abduction of five Indian sailors in Nigeria, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday said that the sailors were safe and efforts were being made to secure their release.
"I have the report on abduction of 5 Indian sailors in Nigeria. The contact with pirates is established. Indian sailors are safe," Swaraj wrote in a tweet.

Swaraj had yesterday sought a report on the abduction of the sailors.
The request was made seeking help on Twitter, about five Indian sailors being kidnapped in Warri, Nigeria on December 11.
