The Delhi government has increased the amount of scholarships for advancing arts practice on Thursday.

"To make arts policy more inclusive, the Sahitya Kala Parishad of Delhi government has introduced a number of new programmes and broadened the scope of existing ones," a statement from Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said.
The Art, Cuture and Languages Minister and also the Dy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia in his announcement said that the government's main idea to introduce such schemes is to make art a regular practice and funding more inclusive and not just follow hierarchies.
SCHOLARSHIPS OFFERED
According to the new scheme introduced, a candidate who applies for the Sahitya Kala Parishad and gets one of the limited seats in the category, can get a scholarship of Rs 4,000 per montj for visual arts, dance, thatre, music and community arts and Rs 12,000 per month for research and arts development.
LAST DATE TO APPLY
"The last date to apply at Sahitya Kala Parishad is September 10 and the forms can be downloaded from the official website, " Sisodia's office said. The official website to apply for the scholarship is www.delhi.gov.in.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SCHEME:
-New categories like community arts, visual arts and research in art development
-Visual arts and research in art development
-Broadening the scope of music by introducing newer forms of folk music in theatre and dance categories
-Inclusion of hip-hop, rap music along with traditional art forms
-Launch of contemporary mediums like video-making, photography, digital ar along with painting
-10 reserved scholarships for artists with disablities in each of the above category.
