Sadabhau Koth, once considered close to Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS) president and Member of Parliament Raju Shetti, has parted ways with his once-political co-traveler.

On Wednesday, Koth, currently the minister of state for agriculture and marketing in the Devendra Fadnavis-led government, declared he would contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Hatkalangale constituency, which Shetti currently represents in Parliament.

Koth was recently expelled from the SSS on grounds of 'moral turpitude and anti-farmer activity'.

"Last time, I had contested the Lok Sabha election from Madha constituency. I had no network in that area still I was able to get 4.64 lakh votes. However, Hatkalangale constituency is close to my heart. I have worked there so I will easily defeat anyone," Koth said on Wednesday.

Shetti claimed he had no threat from any one as long as farmers are with him. "People will decide who is their leader. However, I am not scared and afraid about any one because the farmers are with me," Shetti said.
