A few pages of the holy book -- Guru Granth Sahib-- were found torn on Saturday.

In an incident of alleged sacrilege, a few pages of the Sikh holy book were found torn in a gurudwara in Dev Kiri Afgana area in Gurdaspur on Saturday, police said.
A member of the gurudwara's management committee Harjinder Singh alleged that he found four pages of holy book -- Guru Granth Sahib-- torn when he opened the door of the gurudwara this morning, they said.
"The priest later brought the matter to the notice of local management committee. The management took the Guru Granth Sahib to the Gurudwara Dam Dama Sahib in Sri Hargobindpur from where it was sent to Goindwal Sahib," a police spokesperson said.
SP (Investigations) Batala, Jagjit Singh Saroya later visited the gurudwara. A case has been registered in this connection, police said.
