Ryan student death: School moves SC seeking transfer of case to Delhi's Saket Court

The Ryan International school on Wednesday moved Supreme Court in in connection with the murder of a seven-year-old boy in the institution's premises in Gurugram, seeking transfer of case out of Haryana.

The Class 2 student Pradyuman Thakur was found murdered with his throat slit in the washroom.

KTS Tulsi, representing the school management has requested the court to transfer case out of Haryana to Delhi's Saket Court.

The court has decided to hear the matter on Monday.

The special investigation team of Gurgaon Police, which is probing the gruesome murder on Tuesday took accused bus conductor Ashok Kumar to the spot and tried to recreate the sequence of crime.

The 14 SIT teams reached the school in Bhondsi and collected evidence, with the help of experts from state forensic lab.

The SIT team also questioned the school staff, including the sweeper who allegedly cleaned the blood stains from the floor, and the teachers.

Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court has granted interim protection from arrest to Ryan International Group's Chairman and Managing Director till Wednesday.

School's founding chairman, Augustine Pinto, and his wife Grace Pinto, who is the managing director of the institution, had along with their son Ryan Pinto sought anticipatory bail after two top officials of the School were arrested and the acting principal detained for questioning.

The father of the 7-year-old, however, approached the Supreme Court seeking a CBI probe, which prompted the apex court to seek responses from the Centre and Haryana.

The police claimed that evidence from the scene of crime had been tampered with and said they would bring the guilty to book.

Schoolbus conductor Ashok Kumar, who allegedly tried to sexually assault the class II student in a toilet and slit his throat with a knife when he resisted on Friday last is already behind bars.
