Angry violent protests, mediapersons being attacked, accused father crying foul over his son's murder charges and the victim's mother now questioning the involvement and arrest of the bus conductor in the murder of her seven-year-old son at Gurugram's Ryan International School; things just got murkier on Sunday.

A SIT report found various issues pertaining to the school and its security infrastructure. The report pointed at a broken boundary wall, lack of separate toilets for staff and expired fire extinguishers. There were also faulty CCTV cameras and the school didn't carry out police verification of employees.

As we dive deep into the gruesome murder incident of the minor, the case looks more like a hardened puzzle. Here are 10 latest developments in the case so far:

1. SIT has interrogated three female teachers of Ryan International School. The victim's parents believe that bus conductor Ashok Kumar couldn't believe he could be the main culprit and demanded a CBI enquiry. The school will reopen on Monday.

2. Angry parents gathered outside the school premises protesting against the heinous crime and demanded a CBI probe into the matter. Locals also set ablaze a liquor shop close to the school.

3. Protests turned violent as several media persons were attacked and lathi-charged. Cameras of some photojournalists were also damaged during the protest. Around 20 protestors were detained by the police.

4. Former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said a CBI probe should be ordered by the Centre. "People's anger in this case is a natural reaction. A heinous crime has been committed, an innocent child has been murdered. If parents of the child want a CBI probe into the case, the government should not hesitate," Hooda said.

5. The Haryana government said they are willing to order a CBI probe into the matter if need be. Education minister Ram Bilas Sharma said the government was not averse to ordering a CBI probe and has asked the Gurgaon Police to book the school owner under the Juvenile Justice Act."We have directed the Gurgaon Police to book the owner of Ryan International School, Albert Pinto under section 75 Juvenile Justice (care and punishment act) Act 15 for punishment for cruelty to child meted out by the custodian in the charge sheet to be submitted in the court within 7 days," Sharma said.

6. The minister blamed the school's negligence for the murder of the class II student. "We accept negligence on part of the Ryan International School but the school cannot be derecognised as the future of 1200 students is at stake. Some loopholes in the security are visible in the case and the toilet window was also found broken from inside," Sharma said.

7. Meanwhile, family of the accused Ashok Kumar cried foul over the charges and blamed the school authorities for trying to cover up the crime. "My son is being falsely framed. My son is innocent; people have forcefully made him accept this crime," the father told news agency ANI. He further said that the owners of the school are misleading the case.

8. Mamta Devi, wife of the accused rubbished all the charges against her husband and called him "innocent". "If my husband had committed the crime, he would have fled from the spot rather than helping the school staff in rushing that poor kid to hospital," she said.

9.The neighbours of the accused also came forward to counter the murder charges. "I have been watching him since the last 15 years. He is a very quiet man who does not talk to anybody," one neighbour said.

10. The villagers also accused the police of carrying out one-sided investigation.  "Police should have come and inquire about Kumar from his parents and locals. Why are they doing a one sided investigation in the matter?" a neighbour asked.

11. In another development, the victim's mother had also questioned the the link between the accused and her son. “My son did not even know the bus conductor as he never travelled in the school bus, we used to drop him and pick him,” Jyoti said.
