The founders of Ryan International Group of Institutions, Augustine Pinto, Grace Pinto and Ryan Pinto will approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court today to seek anticipatory bail. On Thursday, the Bombay High Court rejected their anticipatory bail pleas which they had filed apprehending arrest in connection with the murder of Pradyuman Thakur last week.
The Bombay High court had asked the Pintos to submit their passports to the Mumbai Police Commissioner by 9 pm on Thursday. It said the Pintos will be given interim protection from arrest till Friday only if they submit their passports within the stipulated time.
Father of Pradyuman Thakur, who was killed on the Ryan International School-Bhondsi premises in Gurugram on September 8, had filed an intervention application in Bombay High Court, opposing the Pintos’ anticipatory bail pleas.
In another related development in the case, Ryan Pinto--the Mumbai-based CEO of the Ryan group of school-- was Thursday asked by police to come to Gurgaon and join its ongoing investigation into the murder of seven-year-old Pradhyumn Thakur.
Ryan Pinto has been served a notice which seeks answers from him about security lapses in the school and names of those responsible for those lapses. Ryan Pinto's statements become vital as the school faces a criminal case for negligence. The Gurgaon police team is likely to file charge sheet on Saturday.
