Run for Unity: Government offices to close early on Thursday

The Centre has directed early closure of government offices in and around Vijay Chowk on Thursday due to 'Run for Unity' to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.

The offices in North Block, South Block, Rail Bhawan, CSIR Building, Krishi Bhawan, Shastri Bhawan, National Archives, Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, National Media Centre and Shram Shakti Bhawan will be closed early at 2 pm tomorrow and will remain close till 9.30 am on Friday, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said in an order.

The DRDO Bhawan, Vayu Bhawan, Sena Bhawan, Udyog Bhawan, Nirman Bhawan, Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan (MEA office), National Museum & ASI office, Archaeological Survey of India, Vigyan Bhawan, Vigyan Bhawan Annexe, Raksha Bhawan, National Stadium, Hyderabad House, Coast Guard HQ, Baroda House and National Gallery of Modern Art, among others, will also close at 2 pm on Thursday, it said.
The offices in Transport Bhawan, RBI, Yojna Bhawan, Sardar Patel Bhawan, Nirvachan Sadan, Punjab National Bank Building, Patel Chowk, Akashwani Bhawan/AIR Sansad Marg, Dak Bhawan, Sanchar Bhawan, Jeevan Tara Building, Jeevan Deep Building, Jeevan Vihar Building and SBI Building, will also be closed at the same time on Thursday. However, these buildings will remain close till 8 am on Friday, the DoPT said
