Ruchika Girhotra molestation case: SC confirms conviction of former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore

The Supreme Court has upheld the conviction of former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore in Ruchika Girhotra molestation case. 

The court has granted relief to Rathore and reduced his sentence from one and half years to the sentence already undergone. 

Rathore had molested Ruchika, who was a budding tennis player, on August 20, 1990. Post the incident, Ruchika was expelled from school on grounds of 'indiscipline' following her allegations against Rathore

Ruchika had ended her life in December 28, 1993. 

Rathore faced a six-month imprisonment in 2010 on the charge of molesting ther and was immediately granted bail.
