Basic, modern amenities will be developed; 16 digital cameras to be installed to ensure security inside the temple.
Indore’s famous Khajrana Ganesh temple is being given a facelift with development of basic and modern amenities with an estimates cost of Rs 5.75 crore.
Some of these projects are already underway while remaining would get underway shortly. For revamping security inside this prominent religious place, 16 digital cameras would be installed inside the temple complex. Till now the temple complex had low-quality analogue cameras.
For proper illumination, the temple complex would get 16 metre high mast and the complex would be fitted with modern sound system.
Besides 57 shops for fruit and Prasad centres are being constructed inside the temple complex. Apart from this, kitchen, food grain store and administration building are also under construction.
Additionally, infrastructure development works including development of roads, water supply network and 100m boundary wall have started.
Other proposed and under construction works include; completion of deep stambh, installation of 64 idols of ashta vinayak, revival of bawdi, repair work inside the complex, installation of stainless steel railings, new marble floors, beautification works of temple compound and main entry gate in the parking area.
These works are being undertaken with contributions from temple trust fund and donations from the devotees.
As part of the plan to improve amenities, the cleaning of the temple will also be done by machines and chemicals will be used to maintain the shine of marble time-to-time. The temple authorities have estimated a budget of about Rs 1 lakh for the purpose. Temple administrator and the managing director AKVN Indore Manish Singh told dna that development works are underway at the temple.
He added that the donations received from the devotees also have surged in the recent past. In the last month or so, the devotees have donated 18kg silver apart from cash and other things at the temple, Singh added.
