Dancing Passions, has organised a Ballroom and Latin nite today, inviting enthusiasts of dance forms like salsa, jive, cha cha, rumba et al to take part.
If you are adept in waltzing to tunes with a partner, the dance floor is set for you. Dancing Passions, an academy based in CBD Belapur, has organised a Ballroom and Latin Nite today at Rockville Bar and Diner, a known eatery in the node.
The event will start at 8pm and the participants can dance for hours together. ?The event is to promote pure ballroom and Latin dances and the concept of dance parties. We have been organising such parties for the past one year and there has been a good response from everybody who is a ballroom or salsa enthusiast. The entry is free and not just restricted to students of the academy,? says Sidney Dsouza, director of the academy.
He is accompanied by Candy Dsouza and the duo are the lead instructors of the academy. He added that many Navi Mumbaikars with an interest in ballroom dancing had to travel to Mumbai to be a part of such events.
However, in the last one year, there has been an upswing in couples from Navi Mumbai coming to attend the ballroom nite. ?Inclination toward partner dancing has increased in the satellite city, with many people coming forward to learn Latin dances namely, Salsa, Bachata, Ballroom Jive, Cha Cha, Rumba, Tango, among others,? he adds.
It will solely be social dancing and unlike DJ nights only music relating to ballroom dances will be played. No Bollywood or hip hop music will be played. The organisers invite people of all age groups to come and dance to their heart's content.
