Stating that a case has been registered against those responsible for beating a DTC bus driver to death in the capital, Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai on Sunday said the state
government will provide Rs five lakh compensation to the victim's family. In a late night development, police have managed to arrest a man who allegedly beat up the bus driver. 

"Those who are responsible for this incident, a case has been registered against them. We have decided that a job to one of his (victim's) family member would be provided. Delhi government will provide help of Rs five lakh to the family of the deceased," said Rai. DTC bus drivers in the city had earlier staged a protest against the state government following the death of their fellow employee, Ashok, in yet another incident of road rage. DTC employees 

The 42-year-old driver was thrashed by a motorcycle rider after his bus grazed the bike from behind in the city's Mundka area. The biker and his mother, who was riding pillion, fell on the ground after the accident which sparked off an argument and scuffle between them.

Ashok's son said he was brought in an unconscious condition to the hospital and was declared brought dead by doctors. The biker left the spot before the police could reach and is yet to be arrested.
