Road cave in: Delhi traffic police issue guidelines for traffic movement between Patel Chowk and India Gate

Following the road collapse in New Delhi’s Ashoka Road caved in on Thursday, the Delhi police has announced that the road will be closed until it is repaired.

 Vehicular movement has been closed between the stretch from Patel Chowk and India Gate side of Ashoka Road.

The Delhi traffic police has issued a statement regarding the same, adding that police personnel have made elaborate traffic arrangements in and around the concerned spot.   

“Traffic restrictions shall be imposed from October 25 onwards in the vicinity of Ashok Road (near round about Buta Singh) till the completion of repair work by NDMC. The restriction will be applicable to all private and public transport vehicles.

“No vehicles shall be allowed to proceed from Patel Chowk towards India Gate on Ashoka Road. The motorists are advised to take Rafi Marg. Raisina Road from Patel Chowk to reach India Gate side and adjoining area. The motorists are also advised to avoid using this stretch of Ashoka Road,” the police said in a statement.
