The nomination papers of actor Vishal Krishna and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa Jayakumar for the December 21 R K Nagar bypoll, were on Tuesday rejected by Election authorities, a senior official said.

The returning officer of the RK Nagar Assembly rejected Vishal’s nomination when two proposers who signed his affidavit told him in person that their signatures were forged. The Returning officer Velusamy made this announcement hours after the actor claimed that his rejected nomination was re-accepted.

The actor expressed suprise over the EC's move and claimed that it was like in a movie as twists and turns happen every minute. Vainly stunned actor claimed that he has video of the returning office saying that his nomination was accepted. While the actor did not elaborate on his next move, Vishal vowed to support and make an independent candidate win the election in the RK Nagar.

Earlier, Vishal, who had staged a road roko to protest against the rejection of his nomination on Tuesday evening, was all smiles later to announce that his nomination had been accepted. “Honesty and justice have won,” he declared.

“My nomination was rejected because two people who signed my affidavit as proposers told the authorities that their signatures were forged. I submitted the audio conversation that revealed that the two were threatened. After investigation, my nomination was accepted,” he said.

Earlier, the returning officer of the RK Nagar seat rejected Vishal’s nomination when two proposers who signed his affidavit told him in person that their signatures were forged.

Vishal, however, released an audio of his telephonic conversation with one of his supporters whose wife signed his nomination papers. It suggested that a ruling AIADMK supporter threatened the family, who then claimed that his signature on actor Vishal's nomination papers in RK Nagar were forged.

“The audio clip shows the truth. However, I don’t want to get into who was against me or who was instigating it. From tomorrow, I am going to campaign in RK Nagar,” he said.

Deepa accused the ruling AIADMK for the rejection of her nomination. “I got a call from a senior AIADMK leader who asked me not to file the nomination for the bypoll. The person also threatened that it will be rejected even if I filed it. But I ignored it and went ahead,” she claimed.
