Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev has hit out at the 'deceitful' godmen and self-proclaimed spiritual leaders, saying a lot of fraud and deceit is being perpetrated in the name of destroying dark forces.

"These days, a lot of fraud and deceit is being perpetrated in the name of destroying dark forces, negative impact of unfavourable planetary positions and exorcisms from evil spirits. Many such persons claim to be blessing people with delicacies and sweetmeats. There is another self-proclaimed holy man in southern India, who possesses assets worth Rs5000 crores," he said.

Recently, several people accused popular Godman Nirmal Baba of misleading devotees and gaining unaccounted wealth worth millions.

Nirmal Baba, like many other self-proclaimed spiritual leaders in India, owns property worth millions of rupees, is regular on television channels, and claims to treat diseases, emotional issues and family problems.

Meanwhile, Ramdev also reflected on the recently exposed scam in the country's coal sector, saying he would try his best in ensuring the government retrieved the money lost in the brazen loot.

"The coal scam has blackened the faces of many individuals. When I spoke out against the coal scam, many spokespersons and senior leaders of the present government came on television and asked me why do I always come forward whenever any scandal takes place?" said Ramdev.

"I replied that this country belongs to us, and if you try to loot even a single rupee from India's exchequer, I will not only speak out but even try my best to retrieve the money," he added.

According to the CAG draft report, the government extended undue benefits totaling a Rs10.67 lakh crore to commercial entities by giving them 155 coal acre ages without auction between 2004 and 2009.
