In its first annual governing council meet after the election of its new President VS Kokje, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will take up the issue of Ram Temple construction, love jihad, Maoists and National Register Of Citizens (NRC).

A statement by VHP Secretary General Milind Parande said on Saturday that it will take stock of the existing circumstances surrounding the Ram Temple issue and "find a way ahead".

The statement added that at the end of the two-day meeting, a resolution will also be passed to push for a Ministry of Promotion of Cow Progeny, in the central government.

VHP is considered a part of the larger umbrella of Sangh Parivar comprising of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The VHP Secretary General alleged that "Maoists, a section of the church, pseudo secularists and Jihadi elements are conspiring towards creating fault lines and division in the Hindu society and nation."

On agenda over the two day meeting will also be the issues regarding "illegal Bangladeshi Muslims and Rohingya Muslims" in the country and NRC. A second draft of the NRC in Assam, which is being updated to identify illegal migrants, is going to be released next week.

Earlier in April, former Himachal Pradesh Governor VS Kokje was elected the VHP's international president, putting an end to the over three-decades-long term of Pravin Togadia. Togadia's nominee Raghava Reddy lost in the first elections of VHP held in 52 years. Togadia had quit VHP after the elections.
